Classes

On Ireland they start school a year after Spain, so I went to 4th year, also known as TY(Transition Year), it's a different year, they don't attend normal classes, instead they try new activities that can be beneficial for their future, they also have lots of activities and they also can get a part time job, some people do this to get experience because they have no homework.The school encourages the students to do, try and explore new things that may guide them for the future work that they want to have. They have some normal classes like Maths, English, Irish, it was strange, but I had a ton of fun, Science and on the other hand they have Wood technology, it was very funny and I did some cool things, Future leaders, where they organised activities for the school, Musical, they do some musicals on the year and we danced I had a great time there at the moment they were doing Popstars, Swimming, we went to Limerick University for swimming courses, Mini company, were they had to create a product that they'll sell on a Christmas market, and others.
One of the activities we done was mountain biking, it was really funny but it was a bit muddy and the way up hill was very tiring.
Other day we went to visit the Greenhous which is a hotel that tries to be as eco-friendly as posible by generating most of their energy with solar panels, reducing the amount of water they use, having a garden were they grow some of the food they use and also trying to get 0km food. They also had a farm with lots of animals.

  Other activities Without the school we did also other activities that we organised like going to the ploughing, I have an entry about it, or dancing classes, which is explained on the dance entry. But there were some others. I went to Cliffs of Moher, they are really famous in Ireland and lots of famous films and series had film there like Harry Potter and the half-blood prince, The Princess Bride, Irish Wish, the Mackintosh Man and others. They are an astonishing place, with huge green field and the sound of the waves crashing into the cliffs. I also went roller skating and it was really funny, there was English but also Spanish music being played, until I felt and I thought I had broken my arm. After that we went to a small nearby hospital and I had an X-ray, nothing was broken but it could be fractured so we had an appointment for 10 days after were they confirmed that I had nothing broken, but because my wrist was making me feel in pain I had to continue wearing the wrist ban...

Welcome to the emigrants

  Welcome to the emigrants First of all, to understand everything, I'm going to do a small historical context. On the 19th century a big group of irish people emigrate to Canada because of the poverty and hunger that they were suffering on Ireland because of the british. Ok, let's move on to nowadays, some of their descendents were contacted and reunited on Ireland to do a memorial and visit where their ancestors used to live . They were welcomed with Canada's flag all around the villages and the 21st September they were invited to walk around nature, hear some popular Irish music and share post cards that they had found from the part of their family that had stayed on Ireland. It was a beautiful moment were people with so much in common, that they didn't even know, where they only met each other and enjoy their culture, connecting with their origin.

Cork

My trip to Cork  The Friday 26th we didn't have class, so we went to Cork with all the spanish Erasmus students to visit the city. We went by train for about 45 minutes. First of all we had a walk and visited Marina Market where we had lunch, and I bought a hurling jersey. After lunch we had a wal all along the river to the center of the city where we visited Ingles Market. Those two markets are the most populars markets on Cork and are a very important part of the social live. We also visit a few chunches and the Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral and The National Monument. We also went to a few shops to look and buy clothes and little gifts to take with us to Spain.
